Volunteering by spending the winter in a horse barn at Frontier Park in Graham, WA. We were here last year in the winter also and they asked us to come back and installed full hookups in one of their show horse barns. Out of the weather till we leave here in the spring. |

16 Jul (Wed):Long Beach, WA, north of the Columbia River/Pacific Ocean confluence. Cape Disappointment just to our south was so named in 1788 by British sea captain/fur trader John Meares while looking for the river’s mouth, so wide it reflected his error and chagrin as he mistook it for a bay. The area where the Columbia’s relentless outflow and the Pacific’s massive incoming tides clash is fraught with treacherous sand bars resulting in over 2,000 shipwrecks, earning the title, “Graveyard of the Pacific". |
